The Marquee Club - A tribute site dedicated to the history of the legendary Marquee club at London's 90 Wardour street.

Tim Hinkley, 2007

"I played at The Marquee club many, many times in its 1960 heyday. My first gig there was with the Bo Street Runners whuch featured drummer Mick Fleetwood. Mike Patto became the singer replacing John Dominic and also intorduced me to Boz Burrell of The Tea Time Four. I remember John Gee, Jack Barrie (Boz's manager at the time) very well. The Marquee was not just a performance venue it was a club and meeting point (how many times did I say "I'll meet you at The Marquee on Tuesday"?) for many musicians who would later become icons of the music scene. Actually, I met my wife at The Marquee club on a Bo Street Runners gig in 1966!

I have fond memories of that time long before the world got cell phones, internet and downloading... wonderfully innocent.", 2007
