The Marquee Club - A tribute site dedicated to the history of the legendary Marquee club at London's 90 Wardour street.

"This always had to be the place to play. We played tons of gigs all around London and the South East but to be invited to headline at The Marquee was like arriving. It was hot and heady. Great place to be.

The memorable thing about the gig was that we had played the set, gone off into the dressing room and Andy the singer had eaten virtually nothing all day and effectively collapsed. We went on and did an instrumental jam as an encore. Well, the crowd were screaming for it. Perhaps not the jam session though.

Getting in was an art form especially as we were skint most of the time. I think we were almost remember by the door staff as they always checked the guest list when we walked up. Because if we ever payed they were shocked. It's not that we were famous, just the regularity that we got turned away. Great place, great atmosphere. Nothing like it.", 2007
