FAQ
ABOUT THIS WEB SITE
-Is this the official web site of the Marquee club?
No. This web site is NOT the official website of the Marquee club and it doesn't represent the actual Marquee club.
This web site is only dedicated to recover the history of the old Marquee club, located at 90 Wardour street for the years between 1964 and 1988.
If you are interested in the modern Marquee club you may visit their official web site.
-Is this a commercial web site? Do you make a living with this site?
Not at all, this web site is only a personal project that I develop in my spare time.
-Where did you get the information featured on this web site?
The information published in this web site comes from different sources. Most of it has been contrasted and checked out. Some of the sources are books, testimonials from different people, the Internet, and most of all days of research in music magazines at London's Newspaper Library during my stay in London during the 90's.
-Can I buy memorabilia, merchandising and recordings related with the Marquee club in this web site?
No. This is not a commercial web site and it has been only made for historical purposes.
-Can you keep me in touch with the artists featured in the web site?
I'm afraid this web site doesn't represent any of the artists who appear in the web site and either we don't have a regular and professional contact with them. Please don't waste your time and mine by sending us any email for the artists because nobody is going to answer or even read them.
-Can I find a book about the Marquee club?
This is the same question I've been aking myself in all the London music bookstores for decades and they used to look at me as if I was from a different planet. I'm afraid I don't know any book about the Marquee club. This is one of the reasons why I decided to start this project, before the memory of this beautiful piece of history is completely gone and the witnesses and protagonist are not with us anymore.
-How can I contribute with this web site?
You can contribute to this web site by sending information and pictures. You can also contribute by sharing your personal memories on the Marquee club if you ever were there. Following these links you can submit a form and we will keep in touch with you as soon as possible.
-How can I contact you for other matters?
You can contact me in English and Spanish.
-Why are there many unavailable dates in the calendar?
I am still developing the information to post and eventually all of the dates will be featured.
-Why there are many missing bands in the performers files?
I am still developing the files for the performers and it will take a long time until we can have information about all of them posted. I have started with the files of the most important artists in relationship with the number of gigs played at the club and the historical relevance of their performances. I will try to update regularly the site with new files but please don't bother us to remind us about it.

-Do you collect memorabilia from the Marquee club?
No, I'm not a collector and in fact I barely own many items from the club myself. I keep a number of newspaper cuttings related with the club, most of them featured in this website, but only for resource purposes, not for collecting. I once saw the remains of the stage and the dressing room door from the Marquee club at Wardour street on disposal at a memorabilia shop in London's Hanway street, that was in the mid 90's. It was a sad view but that is probably the closest I have ever been to any memorabilia stuff related with the club.
