Documentary film on The Marquee Club

A documentary movie on the history of The Marquee Club is being produced for the very first time. In October 2006, Gunter Kutsch -president of the Germany and Los Angeles based film production company ABC Entertainment- contacted me in order to ask for assistance to the project. During the last few months I've been in touch with the company, helping out as a consultant for the historical research about The Marquee and also the database from this web site it's being used for research purposes.

Gunter Kutsch, director of the project, has a long experience in rock music, having filmed acts such as Culture Club's reunion concert at the Royal Albert Hall, Public Enemy and Edgar Winter, Jamiroquai and Iggy Pop. Kutsch is personally a fan of the old days of the marquee Club: "In my younger days I myself found my way to Wardour Street .... great great memories. I will never forget and these memories always were the driving force behind my dream: to make a documentary movie about the Marquee Club!!".

The film will include exclusive interviews with numerous protagonists from the history of The Marquee Club, including chairman Harold Pendleton, manager Giorgio Gomelsky, the Reading Museum, journalist Tony Baker, as well as numerous artists. We don't have any details about when the film will be finished but I will certainly keep you updated.
